Boy Friend is best buds Christa Palazzolo and Sarah Brown. With a creative partnership that combines different stylistic preferences and attitude with a passion for fantasy, narratives and dreamy, lovesick lyrics, their song writing is led by strong lead vocal and guitar melodies layered in harmonies, ambiance, and thick atmospheric backdrops. The two have collaborated on several projects together in their 15 year friendship, but it wasn't until the end of 2010 while going through a rough break-up from their last band Sleep Over that they regrouped to record their first EP as a duo. It was a heavily charged "break-up" album disguised in hazy undertones and big choruses. The following spring they recorded their Lovedropper 7", and by Summer of 2011 recorded their first full-length, entitled Egyptian Wrinkle, in a friend's house in north Austin surrounded by dogs, bongos, and plenty of warm Texan vibes.

Four friends gave birth to HOLY in the hot summer of 2011 in Milan, Italy. While most people were hanging out in shorts and sunglasses, planning their holiday and heading to the seaside, HOLY was locked inside a hot, sweaty rehearsal room, writing songs. Organizing shows in squats over the past few years, HOLY's members realized how difficult is to live in the corrupt political climate like the one they are living in Milan. "HOLY" has been chosen as name because it's the adjective that describes something untouchable, something sacred and something that is not actually real and concrete in a fucked up world like ours. It only took a few days to give birth to a fistful of songs, 8 to be exact. Soon after, a demo was recorded in that same hot sweaty rehearsal room, which instead of being a demo become HOLY's debut record.

LOVE INKS 'Blackeye' Single 7"/Digital and 'E.S.P.' LP/CD/Digital

Austin, Texas three-piece LOVE INKS are set to surprise and seduce music fans and critics across the board
this Spring, with the release of their debut album ‘E.S.P.’, along with their highly infectious, dreamy pop gem
and debut single ‘Blackeye‘. March 7th will see the digital release of “Blackeye” and on May 2nd the highly
anticipate debut full length, ‘E.S.P.’ The single will be released on 7” vinyl on March 28th with an unreleased
track on the B side, followed by the album on May 2nd.
E.S.P. was conceived and recorded with strict, direct motives.
The sounds captured within these 10 tracks are simply an electric guitar, a bass guitar, an old drum machine,
at special moments a Moog Satellite and, most importantly, the simple yet poignant vocals of Sherry LeBlanc.
The combined sound is minimalist dream-pop; imbued with raw emotion, sexuality, and splashes of electronic colour.
Focus is placed primarily on the voice, which is direct and honest and real. No frills, tears through extravagant side
roads, or indulgent solos necessary.
Self-recorded in their own homes, Austin, Texas, and mixed by a friend;
the idea was to get the purest signals from all instruments and feed them through an 8-track reel-to-reel,
immediately warming the sounds and weaving it all together. This process was drawn out on a piece of paper
in schematics before recording with the concept being: the less digitized, the better.
In March of 2010, Love Inks started the process with 15 or more songs, and by June they were down to a solid ten.
The songs featured on E.S.P. were written to showcase the essence of emotion behind each instrument.
It started as an exercise and became the only way to do it, forever.
With the guitar and bass, Love Inks found there is a way to drop it perfectly into the song, in between everything,
so that the vocal can exist in its own world, floating independently above the song.
Love Inks are set to tour the US and Europe later this Spring after completing the video for their current
single ‘Blackeye’, due mid-March. Be sure to catch this Texan based three-piece at this year’s SXSW .
